The LifeHouse Food Kitchen for the Homeless has been working extra to
provide more takeaway meal bags (with extra goodies like “for later in the day sandwiches”, fruit, chocolate, frozen second meal, snacks and water) and beefed-up food parcels for our guests/service users! The aim is to help folks with the things they can’t possibly afford or get in these difficult days.
This month we have increased our distribution network to take hot meals out with volunteer drivers to patrons during our opening hours. We have routes out to Eastney, North End and Somers Town. We are finding many of our regulars have got the dreaded “Twelve Week Letter” from the NHS and are grounded for the months ahead. Others of our friends have been in poor health and we have been supporting them for some time now.
We are already so looking forward to resuming our unhurried, sit-down, social meals indoors and we have booked a band for our first week back when ever that might be! In the meanwhile we are writing today as one of the generous firms and organisations that has supported us recently to give you some insights of our year so far here at “The LifeHouse” and to ask for help!
