We see a great need for getting a LIFEHOUSE VAN for the first time!
We have in writing an offer of matched funding from a public benefactor of up to and including £5,000. If we are successful in our fundraising now we can purchase, insure and run a good, versatile, well-made, economical and environmentally friendly second hand small/medium van for collections and door to door deliveries for those who can’t come out.
We could collect more food from supermarkets, restaurants & sponsor companies to meet fast growing demand for individuals and families in need – supermarkets are strongly combatting lost stock so donations are seriously down compared to past years – many supermarkets are removing “Best Before Dates” from fruit & vegetables, donations of these have markedly decreased – few of our team have medium or large vehicle. s A van can collect more food, more quickly & efficiently and deliver more hot meals & food parcels. We support 40+ extra households in this way currently and it is taking an incredible amount of time with just using cars and one driver at a time (we would want to insure several drivers on a van).
